'Maker Maker’ is the first of three films we made for The Guardian at the end of 2019. This one is directed by Dan Castella and is about Maker Maker in Exeter.
Visa collaborated with The Guardian online to localise the national newspaper's site over the Christmas period for their readers and viewers. Visa's Christmas campaign, now in its second year, focused on championing local shops on the high street. The aim was to celebrate individual stories of unique and wonderful shops and their truly original owners.
We visited high streets from Newcastle to Portsmouth. It was a hectic schedule, but the people and their stories were worth every moment. Thank you to everyone we met, every one of you made us smile. It is so important we all try to support our local high street, so life can thrive in our towns and cities around the UK.
We had great feedback from the Guardian team, including this from Nat Fox, Guardian Producer, "Everyone loves the films and the audience team tell me they are some of our most successful ever."
